Wendy Trivisonno Named CEO at National Blood Testing Cooperative
Industry veteran will lead first cooperative created for blood testing needs
ATLANTA, Georgia — The National Blood Testing Cooperative (NBTC) is pleased to announce that Wendy Trivisonno has been named as its first full-time Chief Executive Officer. She had been serving as CEO for the organization in a part-time capacity since 2018. Trivisonno’s full-time role will commence on May 1, at which time, she will step down from the National Blood Collaborative (NBC) where she has served as President since 2016.
“It is with immense excitement that I accept this full-time position at NBTC and appreciate the board of directors’ support in this decision,” said Trivisonno. “I look forward to working as a partner with innovative community blood centers across the nation. Unfortunately, this means leaving the National Blood Collaborative, but I know NBC has a great future ahead of them. I will miss leading this outstanding organization that is focused on implementing strategic initiatives that benefit the eight owner members.”
Trivisonno has more than 30 years experience in the blood banking industry, including decades of strategic leadership and tactical business development efforts for leading organizations, most recently as president and vice president of business development of the National Blood Collaborative. Under her direction, NBC grew to a network of eight leading U.S. blood centers with the capacity to respond to the increasing economic demands of hospitals and healthcare systems; helping collect, process, and distribute almost one million blood components every year to customers in 35 states. Prior to that, Trivisonno spent 23 years in senior executive roles at Blood Centers of America where she helped grow the organization from eight members in 1994 to approximately 60 blood centers upon her departure in 2015 as Vice President of Business Development and Biologic Sourcing.
NBTC is the first cooperative formed specifically for blood testing needs and offers all infectious disease and confirmatory testing services, including chagas and babesia testing. With state-of-the-art testing facilities in Atlanta, GA and the San Francisco Bay Area, NBTC provides its members with a personalized level of service and peace-of-mind that they can’t find with a third-party testing service.

NBTC was created in 2018 to allow community-based blood centers to take control of their blood testing needs. Today, NBTC consist of 17 nonprofit blood centers located throughout the country and provides high-quality testing services, at cost, to its owner-members by eliminating unnecessary profit-mark-ups that large testing entities charge.
