SAN DIEGO BLOOD BANK ANNOUNCES NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
SAN DIEGO (March 16, 2022) Doug Morton has been named the new Chief Executive Officer of San Diego Blood Bank.
Earlier this year, the San Diego Blood Bank Board of Directors named Morton as the Interim Chief Executive office while they conducted a nationwide search.
Doug has dedicated more than 21 years to San Diego Blood Bank, joining the team in 2000 as Director of IT. Doug accepted the position of Chief Operating Officer in 2005 and interim Chief Executive Officer in November of 2021. Doug has overseen the core operations of the organization, including collections, hospital services, information technology, nursing & community wellness, marketing, and recruitment. Under his leadership, San Diego Blood Bank has continued to see steady growth in collections, expanded community outreach and a619- strengthening of our hospital partnerships.
“I have been privileged to work with the amazing staff and donors at the San Diego Blood Bank for the last 21 years. I am honored to have the opportunity to continue our lifesaving mission in this new role,” said Morton.
